Roof Repair
While roofs are made to last for years, it may be possible that, over time, your roof will start to weaken. This can be due to storms or heavy rainfall. This can also be from poor installation or natural causes, like your home settling. When roofs begin to fail, it can lead to a host of problems, ranging from heavy leaks to parts of your ceiling collapsing. If you are noticing that your roof is starting to have problems, let us know so that we can come out if whatever is going on.
Assessment The first step in the roof repair process is to have us come out and evaluate your roof to see exactly what is going on. This is an important step because there could be something happening that you aren’t even aware of. If you are noticing a leak inside, it’s tru that that is indicative of a roof failure, but until we check your roof, we may not know how bad your roof is failing. It could be that you just need a few new shingles patched in, or it could be that your entire roof is failing. Re-shingling Re-shingling is the easiest of the roof repair options. If you are caught in a bad storm front, with high winds, it is reasonable that you could lose a few shingles to those winds. Shingles can also fail due to a number of other natural causes. When you lose shingles, or they begin to fail, we can come and install new shingles for you. Usually we can do this without tearing up the rest of the roof; instead just patching in shingles as they are needed. Because of this, costs and labor are kept relatively minimal and this can be completed quickly. Patching Patching usually takes place when, somehow, a hole has been punched through your roof. This is, typically, the result of a tree or branch or some other foreign body, landing on your roof in a manner that the roof cannot support. When a hole is punched through your roof, we can do our best to patch the problem, instead of having to do an entire roof replacement. Of course, this depends on a number of factors, including how big the hole is and how much integrity is lost due to the puncture. Patching can be a great option if it’s doable. Replacement Replacement is the most expensive of the repair options, but every one and then, it is a necessity. If your roof is failing in multiple areas or something has put a hole in your roof that is simply too big to patch, you may want to consider roof replacement. Even though smaller repairs cost less money, over time, having to repair multiple places on your roof can add up; sometimes costing more in the long run than a new roof would. If you need a roof replacement, we promise that we can work with you to give you the best roof possible. |
