Commercial Roofing
Commercial roofing is similar to residential roofing, except that commercial roofing is usually built up to be stronger. These types of roofs are built according to the type of building that they are covering. Commercial roofing helps the overall health of your commercial space, by providing things like proper drainage and protection from the sun and other weather. There are several options to choose from when having a commercial roof installed and we do what we can to install as many different types as you may need.
Built-Up Roof Built-Up Roofing, commonly referred to as “BUR”, is the standard type of commercial roofing. This is the most basic, entry level types of commercial roofing that there is and, while it isn’t fancy, does an excellent job of keeping your business safe. BUR roofing is made of tar and gravel and is a flexible roof type, able to withstand wind and inclement weather conditions. The roof can be built up from as many layers as you see fit, giving more protection (but also adding to costs) with each layer put down. This is the most cost effective commercial roofing option. Metal Roofing Metal roofing is a great commercial roofing choice because metal is a very sturdy material that holds up exceedingly well under nearly any weather condition. Metal roofs can be made out of galvanized steel, metal tile, copper, aluminum, tin and stainless steel. Metal roofing also has the distinct advantage of looking sleek and modern and does a great job of making your commercial building look cutting edge. Metal is also very fire resistant and more sustainable than other roofing types. Ones drawback to metal roofing is that it is prone to rusting. We can put a protective coat on that will help with this though. Green Roofing Green roofing is quickly becoming the leading type of commercial roofing in the United States. Green roofing is an amazing option because the benefits are two fold. On one hand, green roofs do an incredible job at withstanding the elements, including inclement weather and intense sunlight. On the other hand, green roofs harness the power of the sun and rain to help the buildings that they cover to become more sustainable. Green roofs are also gorgeous to look at. If you would like a green roof installed, we would be happy to help. Thermoplastic Roof Thermoplastic roofs are another excellent choice for commercial businesses. These roofing systems are lightweight and highly reflective so they do a fantastic job at dispelling heat and helping to insulate the business underneath. These roofs are also highly resistant to punctures and tears. Another great benefit to thermoplastic roofs is that they do a very good job os resisting chemicals, oils and fats. This makes thermoplastic roofing ideal for commercial businesses like restaurants and kitchens. This roofing type is also highly fire resistant and does a great job at handling strong winds.
